Classic Amish Peanut Butter
Some believe this basic "church spread" recipe with marshmallow creme arose in Amish communities around the early 1900s. Its ingredients were readily available and the sweetness appealed to children.

- 1 cup creamy peanut butter
- ¾ cup marshmallow creme or fluff
- ¼ cup real maple syrup
In a mixing bowl, combine the peanut butter, marshmallow creme, and maple syrup.
Mix together until smooth and creamy.
If the mixture is too thick, add a tablespoon of hot water at a time until you reach your desired consistency.
Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
Some variations to the recipe are add either 2 Tbsp of light or dark corn syrup to the recipe for an added sweetness.
Vanilla and cinnamon are great additions, as well.
